South Korea's homegrown KF-21 Boramae fighter jet flew for the first time, putting the country among the few nations to have developed and flown an advanced supersonic fighter. The first prototype KF-21, named Boramae, which means hawk in Korean, with serial 001, took off at 3:40 PM local time, slightly delayed by weather, before landing at 4:13 PM. Flying as a chase plane to monitor the flight was another KAI product, a two-seat T-50 advanced jet trainer. The latter jet may have been from the 281st Test Flight Squadron that’s also based at Sacheon. Major Ahn Jun-hyun of South Korea’s Air Force piloted the KF-21 prototype No.1 featuring the national flags of South Korea and Indonesia. the jet was also fitted with four mock-ups of the long-range Meteor air-to-air missile (AAM), carried in their semi-conformal location under the fuselage. The twin-engined aircraft bore the flags of both South Korea and Indonesia — the only foreign partner in the program. Unusually for a first flight, The KF-21 was also seen carrying four mock-ups of the Meteor long-range, air-to-air missile under the fuselage. Did the KF-21 Boramae and the F-22 Raptor Have a Comparable Design? The design of the KF-21 Boramae is quite interesting. The jet, which was developed by South Korea with Indonesia, adopts a large number of stealth designs. Its small body means it does not have a designed internal magazine. Not only that, the weapons and equipment carried were installed in the half-buried stomach and under the wings. It also lacks stealth combat capabilities. Even so, the shape of the KF-21 aircraft will be very similar to the US F-22 Raptor. The biggest difference between this aircraft and 5th generation aircraft is the magazineless design, there are 6 external under-wing hardpoints, 4 belly-buried external hardpoints and 2 fuselage side sensor external hardpoints. After installing the weapons and equipment, the radar reflecting surface of the fuselage is greatly improved. KF-21 Boramae prototype 001 carried out a celebratory flight on 28 September where it showcased developmental progress to various defense officials. During this day's showcase, KF-21 Boramae flew for 19 minutes with its landing gears retracted. Although KF-21 001 already carried out test flights with retracted landing gears beginning in July, this was the first time such flight has been unveiled to the public. The first prototype aircraft has already carried out numerous flight tests since its first flight in July. 2nd~6th prototype aircraft are scheduled to conduct testing shortly. This shooting came one week after Boramae launched its dummy Meteor BVRAAM missile and 20 mm automatic cannon on March 28. The IRIS-T ( Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled ) is an infrared guided air-to-air missile designed for close combat.

Despite the inherent risks, it now became a matter of national security. The nation could have bought aircraft from foreign manufacturers, but they were determined to build one themselves. It was a matter of national pride. Indonesia eventually joined the project, and American company Lockheed Martin agreed to provide technology, but their joint venture would be plagued by eventualities and a lack of cooperation, causing plenty of delays. W lipcu 2022 r. oblatano prototyp koreańskiego samolotu wielozadaniowego, który w przyszłości ma stać się maszyną V generacji, bo obecnie jest maszyną generacji 4,5, albo 4. Jak wiemy od kilku dni, Ministerstwo Obrony Narodowej zdecydowało się na zakup koreańskich samolotów FA-50, które dla producenta (Korea Aerospace Industries) stały się trampoliną do budowy nowego samolotu. I tak oto powstał KF-21, którym nasz MON "wyraża zainteresowanie". O samolocie wiadomo na razie bardzo niewiele, ale to co ujawniono jest dosyć zachęcające - maszyna ma być już w tej gołej, "budżetowej" wersji Block 2 lepsza od F-16, Block 3 ma polatać z 70 lat, a już ewentualny Block 4 to prawie jak w gwiezdnych wojnach. W sumie jest szansa że tak faktycznie będzie, bo samolot prezentuje się całkiem nieźle i ma solidne amerykańskie podstawy w postaci silnika i awioniki od wujka Sama. Wiadomo również, że Koreańczycy planują budowę "lojalnego skrzydłowego" - czyli drona, który będzie wspierał pilota lecącego na KF-21. Dodatkowo tylko w Korei ktoś pomyślał, że budowa samolotu V generacji w wersji dwumiejscowej to jednak nie jest zły pomysł i pozwoli na ogarnięcie choćby tego "lojalnego skrzydłowego", przez kogoś z krwi i kości, a nie sztuczną inteligencję. Ponadto w przyszłości (a przypominam, że Boramae ma latać przez 70 lat), samolot będzie można wykorzystać do szkolenia personelu. A zatem? Podoba Ci się to co robię, chcesz wesprzeć rozwój kanału? KF-21 Boramae 004 conducted its maiden flight on 20 Feburary 2023, flying for 34 minutes between 1119 and 1153. The fourth prototype aircraft is a tandem seat variant of the KF-21 and has modified internal fuel tank design compared to the single seat variant. KF-21 prototypes 1, 2, 3, and 5 are single seat variants and prototypes 4 and 6 are tandem seat variants. Pesawat tempur KF-21 Boramae yang dikembangkan Korea Selatan sukses melakukan uji tembak rudal Meteor dan senapan mesin Gatling 20mm. Pengujian sistem senjata ini merupakan bagian penting sebelum pesawat tempur KF-21 Boramae masuk fase produksi massal. Pesawat tempur KF-21 Boramae melakukan pengujian sistem senjata di atas Laut Selatan pada Selasa 28 Maret 2023. Pengujian ini dilakukan dengan menembakkan rudal udara-ke-udara Meteor, dari stasiun bawah badan pesawat KF-21 Boramae. Dikutip dari laman Bulgarian Military, Rabu (29/3/2023), saat uji penembakan, terlihat rudal Meteor dapat meninggalkan stasiun dengan aman. Dengan cara yang sama, pengujian stasiun senjata di sayap pesawat terus berlanjut. Rudal Meteor adalah sistem rudal udara-ke-udara generasi berikutnya yang dipandu radar aktif yang dikenal dengan teknologi Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM).
