🤍 🤍 - Before C11, the C Standard Library did not have much support for working with time. C11 changed all that and introduced the chrono library as part of the Standard Library. With its introduction, C gained a standard way to work with durations, clocks, and time points. It allows you to perform arithmetic operations with durations and time points, to convert between different units of time, and more. The library also comes with a number of clocks, including a high-resolution clock which makes it easy to quickly time how long a piece of code executes, e.g. for benchmarking, all without needing any additional libraries. C20 has extended the chrono library and added support for calendars, dates, and time zones. It allows you to represent specific days of a year, even something like the 3rd Monday of July or the last day of February, and to perform arithmetic operations with dates. Time can now be expressed in specific time zones, and, of course, converting time between different time zones is supported as well. - Marc Gregoire Marc Gregoireis a software architect from Belgium. CppCon 2018: Marc Gregoire “Writing Standard Library Compliant Data Structures and Algorithms”

🤍 — Presentation Slides, PDFs, Source Code and other presenter materials are available at: 🤍 — The C Standard Library provides a lot of data structures, such as sequential containers (vector, array, deque, list, and forward_list), ordered associative containers (set, map, multiset, and multimap), unordered associative containers (unordered_set, ...), and container adaptors (stack, queue, and priority_queue). It also provides a wealth of algorithms for sorting, searching, computing, and so on. Even so, it cannot provide every possible data structure or algorithm that you might need. So, sometimes, you might find the need to write your own data structure or algorithm. Since you are writing them yourself, you could give them any interface that suits you. However, wouldn't it be better to make them compliant with the Standard Library? That way, when you write your own algorithm, you will be able to use that algorithm independently of the type of the container that contains the data for your algorithm. Similarly, if you write a Standard Library compliant data structure, then you will be able to use Standard Library algorithms on the data in your own data structure. It's clear, there are a lot of advantages in making your data structures and algorithms compliant with the Standard Library. We'll first develop a simple algorithm with our own interface. Then we'll look into what changes we have to make to transform the interface to be Standard Library compliant. Finally, we'll demonstrate our adapted algorithm by running it on data in a variety of Standard Library containers. In the last part of the presentation we'll crank it up a notch. We'll start by writing our own data structure, initially without thinking too much about the Standard Library. Then we'll look at an overview of the different sets of requirements that the Standard Library imposes for the different types of containers (sequential, associative, and unordered associative). Finally, we'll adapt our data structure step-by-step to transform it into a Standard Library compliant data structure. This of course includes writing a suitable iterator. Finally, we'll demonstrate the transformed data structure by running Standard Library algorithms on the data in it. If you want to write truly generic and flexible data structures and algorithms, then this session is for you. — Marc Gregoire, Nikon Metrology Software Architect Marc Gregoire is a software architect from Belgium. Title: Measles Virus vaccine infects tumor cells and induces dendritic cells (DC) maturation and tumor antigen cross-presentation 4th International Conference on Vaccines & Vaccination September 24-26, 2014 Valencia, Spain OMICS International: 🤍 Vaccine Conferences: 🤍 Global Medical Conferences: 🤍 Global Pharmaceutical Conferences: 🤍 Global Cancer Conferences: 🤍 Global Diabetes Conferences: 🤍 Global Dental Conferences: 🤍 Global Nursing Conferences: 🤍 Abstract: Dendritic Cells (DC) are antigen presenting cells specialized in inducing immune responses. Measles Virus vaccine (MV) was recently proposed as anti-tumor agent to target and kill specifically tumor cells, without infecting healthy cells. We demonstrated that myeloid dendritic cells (mDC) co-cultured with MV infected tumor cells, actively matured and cross-presented tumor antigen. Recently, we also investigated the effects of MV tumor infected cells on phenotype and functions of plasmacytoid DC. We studied maturation, cytokine production and tumor antigen cross-presentation by mDC and pDC exposed either to the virus alone, MV infected or UV irradiated tumor cells. We found that MV infected cells induce DC maturation with a strong cytokine production, notably IFN-α, whereas UV irradiated tumor cells and the MV alone did not. We also observed that MV infected and UV irradiated cells were similarly phagocytosed by DC, although this up-take was less important than in myeloïd DC. Interestingly, we observed cross-presentation of tumor antigen to a specific CD8+ T cell clone only when DC are co-cultured with MV infected tumor cells. Altogether, our results suggest that the use of MV, as anti-tumor virotherapy, may induce immunogenic tumor cell death allowing DC to cross-present tumor antigen. Data will be presented with effects on mesothelioma, melanoma and lung cancer. Biography: Marc Grégoire obtained his PhD degree in Paris VI University in 1984. He was appointed INSERM full researcher in 1987, in Nantes, France. In 2000, he leads a research team (🤍 whose field is mainly devoted to the study of innovative therapies to pleural mesothelioma. His team focuses the role of Measles virus vaccines (MV) to induce immunogenic cell death by apoptosis. His team, in collaboration with Dr. F. Tangy from Pasteur Institute (Paris, France) demonstrated that the MV infection of the tumor cells is specific, induces expression of danger signals by the infected dead cells, and favor activation of the antigen presenting cells such as the dendritic cells. This antitumor virotherapy is in progress to be proposed as an innovative strategy to treat aggressive cancers.

We had the chance to meet Grégoire Blanc, Dorit Chrysler and Marc Chouarain (3 world class thereminists) at Gaité Lyrique. Grégoire played an amazing introduction for the Ecole du Theremine organized Dorit Chrysler (huge thanks Dorit !!!). The Onde was connected to the Theremini and the backtrack sent by bluetooth from the computer to the Onde... no other speaker is used. Since nothing was really planed, the recording was just done with an iPhone ... 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍
